Alfredo Silverio led the Loons with four hits, including a double, and added an RBI. JonMichael Redding (13-3) started for the Loons and recorded his seventh quality start of the season, allowing two runs over six innings on the mound. Redding's win was his 13th of the season, moving him into sole possession of first place in wins in the league. The Loons are now 15-3 at home in the second half and have won 18 of their last 22 at Dow Diamond. The Loons' big inning was the sixth when they sent 11 men to the plate and scored five runs on four hits and capitalizing on two Whitecaps errors. He has now allowed three home runs and all three have come against the Loons. The four-game series continues Sunday at Dow Diamond. Game time is 3:05pm and tickets are available at Loons.com or by calling 989-837-BALL. After the game, kids are invited to run the bases, presented by Farm Bureau Insurance. Two right-handers who began the season in their teams' respective bullpens will start on the mound. Josh Walter (7-4, 3.48 ERA) will start for the Loons against West Michigan's Brayan Villarreal (4-2, 1.45).
